Abstract:

In this article, the author relates the work of Romanian historian of religion Mircea Eliade with modern society in terms of hierophany. It informs that Eliade sifted through data collected by other historians of religions for understanding the various manifestations of the sacred. According to Eliade, a hierophany can be known through instantiations of the profane.
