When Nicolas Trigault returned from Europe to China he left behind a manuscript on the Martyrs of Japan, which was supplemented by new materials he sent from Macao after his arrival there. The book was published in Latin and immediately translated into French (1624). This is an annotated reedition of the French version. The first two "books" were published in 2005; this volume includes "book" 3 and 4; the fifth "book" will be published later.
